Too often, marketers do an amazing job of creating a destination with rich, constantly updating content that keeps in mind the interests and perspectives of the audience they seek to engage, only to discover no one is showing up. They build their keyword list, and use keywords in headlines and copy appropriately. They use properly formatted photography well. They incorporate video in all the right ways, and yet: no traffic.

I just received my review copy of "I'm Feeling Lucky, The Confessions of Google Employee # 59" by Douglas Edwards. That brings to six the number of Google themed books that are sitting on my bookshelf. That got me to thinking. Are six books a lot to be written about one company? Late last week the SEO and social media communities were all abuzz about the new Google+. Personally, I found myself wasting away the day on Friday playing with all of its features and inviting all of my friends to join. But this post isn't about all of the cool bells and whistles of Google +, or a review of whether it can or will be a Facebook killer.
