Meredith Taps Publicis' Reidy To Run Marketing, Digital Operations

Meredith Corp., a big magazine publisher and operator of TV stations that has also been diversifying into digital marketing services, Tuesday announced it has raided one of Madison Avenue's top digital media minds, Martin Reidy, as president of its burgeoning Meredith Integrated Marketing unit.

Reidy, who most recently was president-CEO of Publicis Modem & Dialog, had been part of the Digitas team prior to Publicis' acquisition of the digital advertising shop, and before that was president-CEO of Interpublic's R/GA Interactive unit.

Reidy, who will also serve as an executive vice president of Meredith's National Media group and corporate vice president for the company's interactive strategy, will report to Jack Griffin, president of Meredith's National Media Group.

He succeeds Wendy Riches, who was named Chief Strategy Officer for Meredith Corp.

Meredith, which publishes well-known consumer magazines such as Better Homes & Gardens and Family Circle, has long been among the big U.S. publishing companies that offer adjunct marketing services to advertisers as a means of building share of their advertising budgets, but in the past few years it has expanded its portfolio, acquiring digital marketing specialty shops and integrating them into its overall portfolio., which now includes substantial assets in custom publishing, digital, mobile, video, database, health care, word-of-mouth and social marketing capabilities.

Among the big marketers utilizing Meredith's marketing services are Kraft, Nestle, Pepsi, Honda, and Johnson & Johnson.
