Matt Freeman: Madison Avenue, You’re Out Of Order

That’s right, Matt Freeman, OMMA Behavioral keynoter, and the new ventures chief at Interpublic’s Mediabrands unit, says agencies are all screwed up. Actually, he said that dealing with them from a vendor’s perspective is “hard, miserably hard.”

Freeman knows. Before joining Mediabrands, he was on the vendor side running BetaWave, and before that, of course, he ran Omnicom’s Tribal DDB unit.

“Seeing it from a vendor perspective changed my view so much that I wanted to come back to the agency world, because clearly so much needs to happen,” Freeman said. He also apologized to all the vendors in the room. Small comfort, but maybe Freeman can help change that. Stay tuned.
