Email Insider Summit ready to lift the fog over email

MediaPost's Email Insider Summit is ready to commence here in Park City, Utah after a bit of a delay because the Salt Lake City airport -- suffering from heavy fog and what is called "inversion", clouds and air getting trapped -- got shut down late Sunday.

All is well now. And the beginning afternoon session will launch with keynoter Tony Bombacino, chief marketing officer of restaurant.com, talking about what is "right". That is delivering and demystifying "the Right Offer to the Right Person at the Right Time through the Right Channel" concept. Bombacino will talk up big time success of the company's email program.

What do consumers really think about email right now? Another panel from Jeff Ginsberg, chief eMail officer of The eMail Guide and Morgan Stewart, chief executive officer of Trendline Interactive, will be "taking it to the streets" to find out what's what.

Then we look to answering that big question for email marketers these days: How will it work in bigger ways with social media? So far much stuff has been pretty basic, so far. "Become a Fan on Facebook"? That was just the start.

New research and a panel lead by Chad White, research director of the big email provider Responsys, shows us consumers are clamoring for a lot more. Some of the latest data will be revealed.

The last big panel of the afternoon focuses on mobile -- and what email marketers can do now. A plethora of mobile devices has been having a big effect on email marketing campaigns. Dylan Boyd, vp of sales & strategy of eROI, will lead a group of experts, and reveal efforts over new designs, testing, and what is working.

Companies seem to ignore the single largest online branding/advertising venue available: their own regular external emails. Why not use these emails to market the senders company?

    You have a website.
    You send emails.

Why not multiply your sales-staff by “wrapping” the regular email in an interactive letterhead?

No other marketing or advertising medium is as targeted as an email between people that know each other (as opposed to mass emails). These emails are always read and typically kept.

WrapMail offers a solution that is server-based (i.e. compatible with all email clients), has a complete back-office with a WrapMaker, reporting etc and it is FREE!
