Fulgoni: A Third Of Viewers Now Access TV Content Via Other Platforms

During his opening keynote at OMMA Global in San Francisco, comScore chief Gian Fulgoni shared some data showing that less than two-thirds (65%) of consumers say they now access conventional TV programming only via a traditional TV platform. Nearly a third (29%) say they currently access TV content via some sort of "cross-platform" set-up, while 6% do it exclusively via the Internet.

Um. Doesn't anybody at this show know how to publish a statistic.

What is a "cross-platform"? Who was this research done amongst? All studies I've seen that report this level of adoption of "other" forms either (a) include DVR's among their other devices or (b) have done this research amongst a really skewed target audience (like GoogleTV owners).

IF it includes DVR's, then this is an amazing yawner of a stat - undeserving of Media Post's authority. If it's the second, then reporting it without noting the audience in the research is nearly criminal.

In either case, perhaps this post shouldn't have been reported. Shame on Media Post.
