Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. will named
Men’s Health founder Michael Lafavore to edit its flagship title,
TV Guide magazine, reports the
Wall Street Journal. Gemstar is set
to re-launch
TV Guide later this month, in an effort to reinvigorate the title, which has seen its circulation decrease 21.5% in the first six months of 2002. If the report is accurate,
Lafavore would replace Steven Reddicliffe, who resigned last November after seven years at
TV Guide. According to Publishers Information Bureau,
TV Guide’s ad pages fell 11% and its
revenues declined 9% in 2002.
