Schreyer: Design Maestro For Kia And Hyundai

It's an extraordinary event when Korean business drops the bridge over its moat to let in a for... I mean, an outsider. But last month, top executives at the Hyundai Group behemoth placed a large chunk of responsibility for the company’s future in the hands of an outsider, the designer Peter Schreyer, who made both Kia and Hyundai vehicles into objects one could actually admire. He will now oversee global design for both auto brands. “I think it can help make the design organization stronger,” Schreyer said of his new position during a conversation at the Chicago Auto Show after unveiling both the Kia Forte 5-door hatchback and the edgy Cross GT Concept.
