Latinos Increasingly Seek Citizenship Amid Trump Rise

Amid the rhetoric coming out of the GOP race, Hispanic voters are increasingly seeking citizenship to have their say in November. Legal immigrant Hortensia Villegas, who came from Mexico, explained, “I want to vote so Donald Trump won’t win.” According to federal numbers, naturalization applications were up 11% in 2015 and jumped another 14% in the last six months of that year.
