Vevo Taps WBD Product Marketing Exec To Lead Research, Marketing

Streaming music video service Vevo has hired Julie Triolo as vice president of research and marketing, to lead the creation and implementation of a new strategic vision for the brand.

Triolo had been vice president of product marketing at Warner Bros. Discovery, where she helped launch the digital news outlet Great Big Story and digital platforms and other brand extensions for HBO Max, CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Turner Sports and Bleacher Report and its kids, family and young adult business.

At Vevo, she will report to Kevin McGurn, president of sales and distribution.

McGurn called the hire a “major moment” for Vevo, citing Triolo’s track record of “launching products at the edge of innovation.” The future of TV is “data-driven, agile, dynamic and global,” and Triolo’s role will be “pivotal for arming our sales team with even more insights” and “future-proofing Vevo’s global CTV business,” he added.

Triolo, noting Vevo’s passionate fan base and the close relationships among fans, artists and brands, said there is “no other media network like it in the CTV space.”

Prior to WBD, which she joined in 2018, Triolo served as head of global business marketing for Candy Crush developer King, which was acquired by Activision Blizzard during her time there.

She started her career in 2009 at Yahoo, as an integrated brand marketing manager, and was promoted to head of global marketing, focusing on news, finance and technology products such as Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Weather.
