Palm Names Brodie Keast Marketing Chief

Brodie C. Keast has joined Palm as its senior vice president of marketing, with responsibility for the company's product strategy and creating a mobile-computing roadmap for consumers, mobile professionals and businesses. He will also lead marketing and brand-building aimed at expanding Palm's global presence. Keast reports to Ed Colligan, Palm president and CEO.

Keast, 51, formerly was senior vice president and general manager of consumer electronics at Seagate Technology, the world's leading maker of hard drives. Keast also held a variety of executive positions at TiVo, Inc., culminating in the position of executive vice president and general manager of the consumer division. He is also a former vice president of worldwide product marketing for Apple Computer.

Meanwhile, Palm also launched a $25 million campaign from AKQA yesterday featuring the Treo 680 and targeting holiday shoppers.
