BrandTV Offers Tool For Spreading Video News

Public relations technology provider TheNewsMarket.com has launched a new online video player to help marketers more effectively distribute video news releases (VNR) and so-called B-roll footage of their products and services.

The new player, BrandTV, includes syndication and widget-like embedding features, so target recipients--whether company investors and employees, or TV news producers and consumers--can pick up and share a steady stream of marketing VNR.

"Our new product lets marketers participate in the online video revolution while maintaining brand control," said The News Market's CEO Shoba Purushothaman.

The new platform also allows marketers to track viewing patterns around their posted material, but brand control in an ever-more chaotic media landscape seems key to clients.

"BrandTV gives us the tools to touch all of our stakeholders globally while supporting a level of brand integrity and control that just isn't possible through conventional video-sharing sites," said Peter Ganjbar, manager of broadcast media relations for Volvo Cars.

The News Market has worked with Volvo nearly since its inception in 2003, helping the carmaker "to better reach global media outlets," according to Ganjbar.

No secret to anyone, The News Market's core business involves pitching VNR to TV news producers in the hopes they will incorporate the attractive footage into their newscasts.

Other clients include Google, IBM, General Motors, Intel, Pfizer, Nokia, American Express, Facebook and adidas, as well as the U.S. Department of State, UNICEF and Greenpeace.

Also this week, The NewsMarket is releasing a project-based version of BrandTV named SnapCast for marketers and public relations agencies working on short, video-heavy campaigns.
