LimeLife Launches 'Top Chef' Mobile Game

Dial that chef. LimeLife Inc. is launching a mobile game targeting women called "Top Chef Challenge" that draws on elements of the popular Bravo reality show. The downloadable game challenges players' reflexes, requiring them to manage the sort of hectic kitchen scene often portrayed in the TV show.

The game, which requires a $2.99 monthly subscription fee or a one-time $6.99 download charge, debuted during Thursday evening's "Top Chef" holiday special.

Taking place in the kitchen of a fictional new restaurant opened by Tom Colicchio, the game begins when the player is hired as a lowly dishwasher. By effectively managing kitchen resources, the player can rise to "top chef," earning various gustatory accolades as they are occasionally advised by Padma Lakshmi, the show's host. The various challenges test memory, reflexes and (unexpectedly for mobile gaming) patience.

Lisa Hsia, senior vice president of new media for Bravo, touted the cable channel's push to make itself accessible on multiple platforms, noting that the game "captures a competitive spirit and pressure to perform" that has delivered ratings for the culinary show.
