NebuAd Sheds Staff

  • August 7, 2008
Behavioral targeting company NebuAd has "made temporary adjustments" in staff, a spokeswoman confirmed on Wednesday.

The Silicon Valley start-up currently employs around 60 people. NebuAd has come under scrutiny from privacy advocates and Congress for its Internet service provider-based platform, which gathers data about people's Web-surfing activity from broadband providers and then serves users targeted ads.

Several broadband companies that had tested the service have recently distanced themselves from the company while Congress investigates whether the platform violates federal wiretap laws.--Wendy Davis
