Soccer Star Romário Signs Sponsorship Deal With Interzone

Brazilian World Cup Soccer champion Romário has inked a sponsorship deal with Interzone Entertainment, the Chicago-based company said Tuesday.

Romário, which has scored more than 1,000 goals during his career, leading the Brazilian World Cup Team to a 1994 World Cup Championship, will serve as the company's international ambassador for its forthcoming virtual world MMO Interzone Futebol (IZF) tour.

Romário will make promotional appearances across Brazil, including television and radio interviews. He also will write a blog in Portuguese for the Interzone site called Blog do Romário, which Interzone hosts. The blog aims to allow Romário to connect more intimately with fans that spend time online.--Laurie Sullivan
