About the Position

ORIM is seeking a Senior Manager, Email Marketing to lead marketing efforts that drive customer engagement, loyalty and retention across newsletter lists. In this role you will improve key metrics, increase revenue, improve customer loyalty and build on segmentation efforts with the ultimate goal of expanding the reach and success of Early Bird Books (EBB).  EBB is our popular daily newsletter promoting free and discounted ebooks in various genres. This role will work closely with various teams including customer acquisition, partnership, data analytics, product, tech and content marketing.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Consumer Email Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Create, execute and monitor robust email marketing campaigns that drive users to engage with our daily and special newsletters
  • Work with Marketing, Analytics, Creative and Email Production teams to improve newsletter performance across all KPIs (opens, clicks, purchases) while monitoring and minimizing opt outs
  • Continually test subject line and creative approaches to maximize lifetime value and customer retention of existing and new customers but that also re-engage lapsed users
  • Analyze data and implement strategies that will continue to improve performance
  • Assess current new member on boarding and recommend plan to test/rollout improvements via consumer data
  • Develop plan to drive value from names generated from sweeps and create communication strategy on how to convert disengaged users into passionate, loyal customers
  • Help map out segmentation plans based on retailer, genre and/or frequency preferences of our users
  • Further monetize advertising and affiliate revenue generated from our newsletters
  • Work with Analytics team to review and report on Revenue Attribution from all revenue sources and to track actual performance vs. budget
  • Primary contact for Sailthru, our email service provider, to better understand its capabilities and how to align those with our needs (segmentation, lifecycle optimizer etc.) to continue enhancing performance, targeting, product improvements and consumer retention

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three plus years’ experience working in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or digital operations with specific experience in newsletter or email marketing
  • Metrics-minded with excellent data management and analytical skills
  • Hands-On Experience with Sailthru or other CRM tool
  • Exposure to design and marketing development
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high energy environment
  • Proactive self-starter who can work both independently and with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with individual at all levels in the company and with various external business contacts
  • Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure set priorities, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
