NBCUniversal - Director, Program Research and Media Analytics

Job Purpose: 
The Director role supports the VP of Program Research and Media Analytics on all program research and media analytics needs.  The Director will work across both the Research and Media departments with responsibilities that cover both areas, collaborating on multi-platform program analysis and serving as a primary contact for the Media department regarding audience and viewership information. This role will aid in analysis of media performance and collaborating on the evaluation of media partners based on their audience targeting and measurement capabilities.
 
Essential Responsibilities: 
 

  • Manage a team (manager + two analysts) overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Working with internal departments to analyze multi-platform NBC program performance and landscape trends (including TV screen usage, connected device adoption and growth, video-on-demand, mobile media use, new and emerging services and technologies)
  • Tracking multi-platform promotion, and surfacing insights broadly to help determine implications and opportunities for the larger Marketing organization
  • Collaborating with the Media team on analysis reports (including multiplatform promotion tracking, campaign measurement, tune-in conversion, etc.), and helping to establish media test scenarios as needed
  • Drill into underlying data and technology from media partners, aiding the team in organizing and prioritizing partnerships according to their unique offerings
  • Assist both the Research and Media teams with any ad hoc projects

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience focusing on business intelligence and analytics for an entertainment, technology or marketing performance company
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; statistics experience desired
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all staff levels, providing research and data insights both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau especially; Power BI, Domo) and a passion for storytelling using data
  • Experience with SQL and database environments
  • Familiarity with fundamental media principles 
  • Knowledge of TV measurement, with fluency in Nielsen measurement and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high pressure environment 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the television and SVOD industry
