Previously he was Los Angeles Bureau Chief of Advertising Age and, before that, marketing editor for The Hollywood Reporter. He has also contributed editorial work for Variety, Television Week, Broadcasting & Cable, Adweek, Inside Media, and The New York Times. For television and radio, he held on-air business reporter positions for the Financial News Network and Business Times on ESPN.
