• FCC's Privacy Rules Predicted To Spark Court Challenges
    Internet service providers will sue over the Federal Communications Commission's new privacy rules, which limit how ISPs can use subscribers' data, Forrester predicts in a new report. "2017 will be a year of legal battles -- between the internet giants and against federal regulators -- while the promised consumer protections will fall short on enforcement," the lead author of Forrester's report said, according to CNBC.
  • ACLU, Others Ask Facebook To Clarify Censorship Policy
    Seventy-three organizations including the ACLU, Black Lives Matter and Sierra Club have asked Facebook to clarify how it decides to take down material. They said in a letter to CEO Mark Zuckerberg a letter that they are "deeply concerned with the recent cases of Facebook censoring human rights documentation."
