Amazon Challenges Google

The New York Times reported that , via Kindle, would sell short stories. Two will kick off the project: one by Christopher Buckley and one by Edna O'Brien, and they're going to charge readers $3.99 to read the stories. The only place a reader will be able to get these stories will be on the Kindle.

How 1925. It's like saying, if you want to read Mr. Thurber's story, you'll have to buy that issue of The New Yorker. It's so old-fashioned, it's radical. Think of it as counter-revolutionary. In taking this step, Amazon is saying exclusivity counts for something. That people should pay for access to your work because creativity is valuable.
