China’s online video advertising market is worth $330 million -- up 218% year-over-year, according to Chinese online research company Analysys International. The company claims that ad
revenue spiked after the Chinese New Year, also known as the “Spring Festival.”
It also said that innovative partnerships like the one between online video platform Tudou and
social network Sina Weibo, which now has 300 million users, were driving growth. That deal allows Sina users to upload and share videos to and from Tudou’s site without having to register
separately for Tudou.
According to a recent report from Cisco, online video will account for an astonishing 80 percent of Chinese Web traffic by 2016.
