In one of the sillier European privacy cases involving Street View, the company has also agreed to notify towns’ citizens through local papers and
radio of the cars’ impending arrival. Google has paid a €1 million ($1.4 million) fine to Italy’s privacy regulator over its Street View program, though not for the usual
reasons.
