Fresh milk, organic vegetables and free-range chicken are being delivered as they used to be: to the front door. Fifty years ago, 30% of milk was delivered via milkman. By 2005, the last year for which USDA has numbers, that number had dropped to 0.4% Now, bottled milk is again being dropped to peoples' front doors. Fear of processed foods, E. coli and factory farms, and worries about the source of food, and how much of it is of the Frankenfood variety, are all driving the trend.
