Chattanooga, Tennessee resident John "Thunder" Thornton spent more than $400,000 to build his own high-speed broadband network last year. He now offers to sell fiber-optic Gigabit service to
all of the homes in his 3,000-acre complex for $79 a month. The Chattanooga Times Free Press says Thornton created his own network because he couldn't get affordable broadband any other
provider.
