How Slack Became A $5 Billion Microsoft Outlook Killer

Since Slack’s launch in 2014, the company has gathered a reported 1.5 million paid and 5 million daily active users, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to dentist's offices and NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab. The messaging start-up was valued at $3.8 billion in 2016 and has been in talks this month to raise another $500 million at a $5 billion valuation.
