
As Meredith’s Chief
Privacy Officer, Farah Zaman will lead the company’s privacy compliance, education and protection strategies across all business and locations.
The appointment is effective immediately.
Zaman will report to Chief Development Officer and general counsel John Zieser, who stated: “Protecting our consumers' privacy and data is a major priority for Meredith. Farah is passionate
about data privacy."
Zaman’s career has been devoted to privacy matters, as she worked to promote innovation and efficiency in balance with customer expectations and trust.
As
senior global data privacy council for Colgate Palmolive, Zaman led the global data privacy program and advised its global legal organization, stakeholders and senior leadership on data privacy
matters. She also served as senior counsel of privacy for Nielsen.

Zaman has dedicated her personal time, as well, to data privacy. She is a volunteer for the New York County Women’s Bar
Association, where she served as chair of the International Women’s Rights Committee and as an advisory board member for the Resolution Project.
Currently, Zaman is a board member of the
Carnegie Mellon Board of Advisors for the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Of her new role, Zaman stated: "Data is incredibly useful to our business; however, its
misuse would cause an erosion in public trust." She said it is a "fascinating time to be involved in privacy issues ... in this rapidly evolving time."
