'Inc.' Names Scott Omelianuk Editor-in-Chief

In a memo to staff, Eric Schurenberg, CEO of Fast Company and Inc., announced Scott Omelianuk has been tapped to lead Inc. as its new editor in chief. He begins his new role Jan. 6.

Omelianuk joins Inc. after spending nearly 12 years as EIC of This Old House.

“Several of us interviewed him and came away impressed by his grasp of Inc.’s vast potential, both editorial and commercial, and were convinced that he could raise Inc’s profile and credibility in all the places it matters,” wrote Schurenberg. “Just as important, I was struck by the deep bond he created with This Old House readers.”

During his time at This Old House, Omelianuk transformed the brand’s image and “built around it a tapestry of related businesses, including digital offshoots, Spanish-language TV, lead generation, affiliate revenue, licensed products, and even a mobile game.”
