
Cosmopolitanhas tapped Julee Wilson as its new beauty
director.
Wilson comes to Cosmopolitan from Essence, where she served as global beauty director. She has also held roles at HuffPost and Real Simple.
In her new
role, Wilson will work across print, digital and social as she leads the brand’s beauty coverage, while creating new ways of connecting with readers.
Wilson begins her role April 1 and
reports to EIC Jessica Pels.
Cosmopolitan also promoted Lauren Balsamo and Chloe Metzger to the roles of deputy beauty directors.
Balsamo will be responsible for day-to-day
print beauty content, in addition to writing and editing for both print and digital. She will also produce photo shoots, test new beauty products and treatments and examine new trends.
Metzger
will focus her attention on day-to-day digital beauty content, while writing and editing across platforms. Metzger will also produce photo shoots and franchise work and connect with readers via
TikTok.

Prior to their promotions, Balsamo, who has been with Cosmopolitan for seven years, served as senior beauty editor. Metzger was also senior beauty editor at the brand, and has
served as a beauty editor at Marie Claire, Allure and StyleCaster.
Balsamo and Metzger begin their new roles immediately.
