'Black Cannabis,' Magazine For People Of Color, Makes Its Debut

Black Cannabis, a magazine that aims to help people of color succeed in the cannabis business, has just launched on newsstands and online. The title will appear quarterly in print and digital versions.

Founded by entertainment manager Hazey Taughtme, Black Cannabis is designed to shed light on “the positive impact of legal marijuana on the global marketplace and the role people of color are playing to educate, advocate and help rewire long-outdated beliefs,” Taughtme states.

The debut cover photo features Whoopi Goldberg, whose cannabis lifestyle management brand, Emma & Clyde by WHOOPFAM, is also debuting. Goldberg’s new product line includes edibles, pre-rolls, flower and accessories for medical and recreational consumers.

Other articles in the debut issue include “The Role OF Black Athletes in Cannabis,” “How to Crossover to a Career In Legal Cannabis” and “The Best Weed Themed Songs.”

In addition, there is a profile of Corvain Cooper, a man whose life sentence for a nonviolent cannabis charge has been commuted.

The Black Cannabis web site also provides news on legal, business cultural developments, a retail store locator and a shopping cart. In addition, readers can subscribe to an email newsletter.

The magazine project has “the indelible goal of creating generational wealth for people of color, the world over by arming them with vital marijuana information along with associated lifestyle attractions,”

The web site offers a year’s subscription for $29.99. A single print copy costs $8.99.

"As a longtime cannabis advocate and entrepreneur, I'm happy to support the launch of a new publication focused on starting conversations and covering issues that educate, entertain and inspire people of color in the cannabis community,” Goldberg says.
