Post, signaling a growing trend in publishing, has hired service journalism editor.
The new hire, Megan Griffith-Greene, will partner with reporting teams across the Post newsroom to create useful service stories.
Griffith-Greene will build workflows and train the newsroom on best practices for creating and updating content.
She will also be a liaison with product and engineering at the Post as it seeks to develop effective service journalism, the Post says.
In her new role, Griffith-Greene will seek to identify, elevate and execute utility-focused stories that deepen readers’ relationships with The Post, it adds.

Previously, Griffith-Greene was service editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Her team wrote stories on such topics as the city’s best hoagies, what to know if you are arrested at a protest, how to be an ally to the trans community, and a piece explaining gun laws.
Prior to that, Griffith-Greene served at the
Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
