Iowa-based publisher Business Publications Corp. (BPC) has named Michael Morain editor of its magazine division, starting in January 2023. 

Morain replaces Christine Riccelli, who is retiring after 14 years with the company.

The new editor will be responsible for all BPC magazines, including dsm and ia  and e-newsletters. 

Morain will also lead Inclusion and Lifting the Veil and dsm’s Home Design Awards, LGBTQ Legacy Leader Awards and other programs, including Sages Over 70, Discover Diverse Des Moines, and Lifting the Veil events.

Previously, Morain was communications manager for the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. Prior to that, he worked at the Des Moines Register, covering arts and culture in print, video and social media.  

"Michael brings strong journalistic instincts and stellar storytelling skills to the role, as well as a love for Greater Des Moines," Riccelli states. "I’m thrilled that he’ll be working with our team to elevate and celebrate our community through the magazine and all dsm products."
