'The Week Junior' Launches Book Club For Kids Ages 8-14

The Week Junior, a weekly newsmagazine for kids aged 8-14, has launched a book club.

Each month, the newspaper’s editorial team will select one book for kids and families to read and discuss. It will also publish a review, and a Q&A with the author, and offer additional content for free online and in an email newsletter.

The first selection is "Diper Överlöde," book 17 in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series by author Jeff Kinney.

This Week Junior’s existing book-related franchises were launched in 2020 with the magazine’s annual summer of reading program, and the weekly columns “Book of the Week,” “Ask the Author” and “Reader Recommends.”

“There is a shortage of book-related resources for middle schoolers,” states Editor in Chief Andrea Barbalich. “We look forward to filling that gap.”

The newspaper’s primary revenue stream is subscription, but it also has partnerships that are ad-supported.
