News/Media Alliance Seeks New President-CEO

The News/Media Alliance, a nonprofit trade association representing 2,000 news and magazine media companies, is searching for a new president and CEO following the departure of David Chavern from that role late last year.

Robert Walden, chief financial officer, is serving as Interim CEO.

The Alliance search committee, chaired by Debi Chirichella, president, Hearst Magazines  is working with search firm Russell Reynolds to find a qualified candidate.

“The Alliance is committed to working on behalf of news and magazine publishers as we continue to navigate a rapidly evolving media landscape,” Chirichella states.

Chirichella adds: “We look forward to working with Russell Reynolds as we conduct our search for an experienced and collaborative leader who will build on the organization’s strong foundation and inspire the talented Alliance team as they continue their important work.”

The Alliance seeks to help publishers navigate public policy issues, including postal rates and First Amendment/journalist protection, copyright, privacy, and ad tech, it says.
