Gannett was hit with a one-day strike on Tuesday, timed to coincide with Prime Big Deals Day, by staffers who work on its Reviewed product reviews site, Poynter reports. 

The walkout included 40 union staffers, it continues. 

The issue is an alleged failure by Gannett to set bargaining dates for negotiating a new contract. 

The strikers are asking readers to not click on Reviewed links during the walkout, the report continues. 

Amy Garrard, Gannett’s labor relations counsel, told Poynter: “We are prepared for Prime Day and there will be no disruption to our content. We have been working diligently with the unit leadership and will bargain in good faith at the negotiating table.”
