Publications often drop
their paywalls for coverage of extreme weather events or other emergencies. Bloomberg has been offering some free coverage of the Israel-Gaza war.
For instance, Bloomberg recently specified
that its reporting is free to read for these stories:

French, Dutch leaders to visit Israel
The message does not offer any explanation. But Bloomberg has been known to put select stories in
front of the paywall as a public service to its audience when there is a major ongoing news event.
It was not clear if other periodicals are following this this lead.
Some publications, The Guardian and Newsweek among them, have no paywalls.
