Soap Opera Digest is killing its
weekly print edition.
Staffers were informed on Friday by owner a360Media, formerly American Media, according to Variety.
“Soap Opera Digest, like many other
brands, is adjusting its print frequency and shifting more resources to digital to better accommodate its audience,” a360Media rep told Variety.
Print specials will be
published four times a year, but the main editorial thrust will be digital.
Founded in 1975, the publication once had a circulation of 1.5 million, but that has fallen
off, Variety writes, sourcing the New York Times.
a360Media claims it is the largest print publisher in the U.S.
