The Guardian US has named Emilie Harkin as senior vice president, growth.
Harkin, who most recently served as executive director for global consumer revenue at Condé Nast, will be tasked with crafting a reader revenue plan in partnership with the UK parent’s global team.
“Reader revenue is part of the DNA of the Guardian, and the US is no exception, with tens of millions in voluntary contributions from US readers alone,” says Steve Sachs, US managing director.
Harkin’s addition will “help us enhance and develop our relationship with our readers, in particular by making use of audience data and insights to deepen engagement,” Sachs adds.
At Condé Nast, Harkin focused on growth for the subscription and affiliate businesses at The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Wired, and Ars Technica.
Prior to joining Condé Nast, Harkin served as vice president and growth at The Atlantic.
