The Star Tribune has appointed three managing editors to oversee news coverage and digital strategy, the Minnesota publication announced on Wednesday.
Maria Reeve joins the Star Tribune from the Houston Chronicle,. Reeve will oversee the daily news operation and building of the Star Tribune’s new Today Desk, which focuses on breaking and trending news topics and daily news operations.
Eric Wieffering was promoted from deputy managing editor for enterprise and investigative reporting to managing editor. Wieffering will manage the newsroom's content teams and news verticals.
Chase Davis was promoted to head of strategy and transformation from the title of deputy managing editor.
Davis joined the Star Tribune in 2017 from the New York Times. He is credited with building the publication's digital subscriber base to about 100,000 paid users.
