Gannet/USA Today Network has appointed Marci Moss as chief data privacy officer, effective Monday.

Moss will lead Gannett’s privacy program, creating and enforcing policies for collection, storage, use, distribution and disposal of customer and employee data.

In addition, Moss will partner with the firm’s legal and business leaders to scale its data privacy program, focusing on compliance and protection, data governance, and data ethics, the company says. 

Moss has more than 17 years of experience developing and managing strategic and comprehensive privacy programs, including for such companies as GORE Inc. and Deloitte LLP.
