The Times Union, the Hearst newspaper serving the Albany, New York area, has launched an expanded Capitol Confidential newsletter.
The new Capitol Confidential is run by Dan Clark, former host and producer of the "New York Now" political news program on WMHT. Clark joined the Times Union in January.
The newsletter will be available for $10 per month or $100 per year after a free introductory period.
The free afternoon report on Capitol news will shift to a morning schedule as the Capitol A.M. Roundup.

“To be clear: Nothing about the Times Union's current statehouse report is changing,” says Times Union editor Casey Seiler.
Seiler continues, “Our Capitol Bureau — led by managing editor Brendan Lyons — is stacked with talent and has distinguished itself on stories ranging from the demise of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to DocGo's role in the migrant crisis, Raise the Age and related criminal justice debates and many more.”
But Seiler adds that, “for those with a special fascination with New York government and politics, we believe there is a marketplace of readers for this new
venture, which is both rooted in our award-winning state coverage and an experiment.”
