Post journalist Peter Wallsten has been named editor of the Post’s investigative unit.
The announcement was
made on Wednesday by executive editor Sally Buzbee and managing editor Matea Gold.
In 14 years at the Post, Wallsten has held numerous positions, including senior national enterprise
editor, senior national investigations editor and senior politics editor.
Wallsten created the Post’s Political Investigations and Enterprise team and
has helped to oversee four Pulitzer Prize-winning lines of coverage, the Post says.
Prior to joining the Post, Wallsten covered national politics for the
Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times. The announcement notes that he has “shared his experience with Stargardt’s Disease, a degenerative retinal condition that
has taken much of his eyesight.”
