The Economist Group Appoints Two Senior Leaders

The Economist Group has appointed two senior executives: Luke Bradley-Jones as president and managing director of The Economist and Leon Saunders Calvert as president and managing director of Economist Intelligence.

Bradley-Jones, general manager of EMEA at Disney+, will be tasked with driving The Economist’s digital evolution. Starting this summer, he will be based in London and have a significant presence in The Economist’s New York office.

Saunders Calvert, who comes on board in April, joins from ESG Book, a fintech company where he was partner and chief product officer. Prior to ESG Book, he spent 15 years at the London Stock Exchange Group.

Both new hires will report to Lara Boro, chief executive of The Economist Group, who says, “I’m delighted to welcome these outstanding industry leaders to The Economist Group. Mr Bradley-Jones, an Economist aficionado and subscriber for 30 years, has the track record, vision and leadership ability to further The Economist’s audience growth and digital innovation.”

Boro adds that Saunders Calvert’s “knowledge of data, analytics and software will help him lead the EIU team to create the most innovative client solutions.”
