Brent Maze has been named by Boone Newsmedia, Inc. as the publisher of The Selma Times-Journal and The Demopolis Times. 

Previously, Maze was publisher of the Newton County Appeal in Union, Mississippi. 

Maze served Boone Newsmedia in various roles from 2006 to 2015, including a stint as managing editor of Clanton Advertiser, The Alexander City Outlook, Dadeville Record and Hartselle Enquire.

Prior to that, Maze was sports editor of the Leeds News.

“Selma has a rich history, and The Selma Times-Journal has been a major part of that history,” says Maze, an Alabama native. “It is an honor to continue in the footsteps of those who have come before me to serve the role of recording history in the making.
