Google News suffered an outage on Friday, according to Down Detector and multiple news reports. But the issue was quickly resolved. 

The incident affected “some results on Google News, Discover and other products,” Google acknowledged. But it added, “We’ve fixed the issue and things should be working normally now.”

More than 1,000 outage reports came into Down Detector by 9 a.m. EST on Friday. The issue apparently started around 8 a.m.

One user wrote, “Google is down in Iowa for the last 45 minutes,” but later added, “Google news back up in Iowa.” 

From Italy came the comment that “News doesn’t work on PC. OK on mobile.” 

It was not clear at deadline if publisher traffic was affected. But the affected services included the Google News webpage, the iOS and Android Google News apps, the news tab on Google Search and Google Discover, Yahoo reports.
