Topics related to the global technology outage quickly moved to the top in readership interest online, according to Taboola. 

Almost 15% of all publisher page views were going to outage-related subjects on Friday. 

American Airlines was the fifth most-read-about topic, behind Trump, Biden, ESPN and RNC.  

Other topics of increased interest included CrowdStrike, Technology, Airport, and United Airlines. 

The worldwide outage was caused by a software update performed by the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, and had nothing to do with security issues, the company reports. 

Airports and healthcare systems were among the entities affected by the outage.
