In this edition of Quick Questions, Eric Bandholz, Founder of Beardbrand answers questions about their top selling item, which marketing channel they are increasing spend on, which ad campaign he wished he would have worked on, and more.

  1. What item at Beardbrand has proven surprisingly popular, and what does that tell you? 

Our Sea Salt Spray is a terrific product that surprised me because it’s one that wasn’t designed for beards. I think there is a much bigger opportunity growing beyond the beard, but it’s been a challenge for us. 

  1. We all have big goals, but what is your daily win? 

For me, being able to exercise regularly is something that I feel keeps me moving forward and on pace for the life I want to live.

  1. In which marketing channel have you increased spend most in the last 12 months? 

We’ve been leaning into Meta over the past year or so. It’s not been the most fruitful experience, but we’ve been trying to stay focused.

  1. Which celebrity does facial hair best?   

There’s a ton of great beards between athletes and actors. Obviously, Zach Galifianakis is very well known for his beard, but I’ve always admired Keanu Reeves for rocking a facial hair style that is atypically cool.

  1. What ad campaign do you wish you had worked on? Why?

There was a campaign by Levi's, called“Go Forth” that has always inspired me. I find American values to be big, bold, powerful, and aspiring and I feel they represented it well in the ad.
