Hearst Connecticut Media Group, publisher of eight dailies and more than a dozen weeklies, is offering buyouts to employees, according to the Hartford Business Journal.
A Hearst spokesperson confirmed the report in response to a query, saying, "From time to time, Hearst Connecticut Media offers programs to give employees who may be considering retirement or exploring their next professional chapter the opportunity to do so in a way that is mutually beneficial.”
One person who accepted a voluntary buyout is Leeanne Griffin, a senior food reporter at parent Hearst CT, according to Hartford
Business Journal. She will leave on Nov. 1.
“I am immensely proud of the work I've done for the past two decades, particularly as a food and dining writer
covering the excellent (and extremely underrated) culinary scene in Connecticut,” Griffin writes, Hartford Business Journal reports. “It has been a privilege to tell these
stories, and to meet so many innovative, talented and passionate people through the process.”
