Close on the heels of the Guardian, the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia announced it will stop posting on X. 

The Barcelona-based publication charged that X is now an “echo chamber” for disinformation and conspiracy theories, Reuters reports. 

The newspaper has 1.7 million followers on X. 

And while this does not constitute an overwhelming rejection of X, The Guardian announced to its readers last week that it will no longer post official Guardian editorial on X. 

“We think that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere,” wrote Jennifer A. Maguire, business communications.
