Daily Mail US has gone on a hiring binge, strengthening its reporting team with several experienced journalists. 

The new hires include:

• Michelle Curran, who joins from The Sun to serve as weekend editor of a newly expanded features department.
• Jane Ridley, an arrival from Business Insider, will be the first ”real life” correspondent at Daily Mail US. Ridley’s true-life tales attracted millions of readers at Business Insider.
• Sheila Flynn is joining the staff as a senior reporter based in Colorado. Flynn previously worked at The Independent.  
• Rachel Sharp also joins from The Independent to serve as crime correspondent. Sharp has covered the Idaho murders, the Depp-Heard trial and other cases. 

Flynn and Sharp will report to Wills Robinson, who is assuming a new NYC-based editorship to oversee senior reporters, news planning and new ventures. 

Also joining the staff are:

• Diane Cooper, a long-time Daily Mail freelancer, who comes on full-time as a reporter focused on showbiz exclusives. 
• Meredith Clark, who joins as senior Femail writer, formerly with The Independent.  
• Sophie Gable joins the news staff from The Sun.

In addition, Kelly Laco has been promoted to DC editor after helping to lead election coverage at Daily Mail US. And Justin Vallejo will serve as homepage editor after working as US bureau chief at News Corp Australia. 

In another development, Daily Mail US is launching a real estate section that will cover celebrity homes, unique properties and boom markets. 

“2025 is going to be a tremendous year for the brand as we bring on a roster of deeply talented journalists to help our US newsroom continue to deliver up-to-the-minute scoops, features, and exclusives that only the Daily Mail can,” says Katie Davies, editor in chief of Daily Mail US.
