Church's Texas Chicken Taps Navin Sharma As CMO

 

One global chicken chain is starting off 2025 with new additions to its C-suite.

Last week Church’s Texas Chicken appointed Navin Sharma to the position of CMO. Sharma takes the place of current executive vice president and CMO Natalia Franco, who will retire at the end of the January after two years in the position.

Sharma join’s the chicken chain after serving as a founding partner at Datacraft Advisors, a marketing and digital advisory firm. In his new role he will be responsible for brand marketing, digital strategies and advertising.

“[Navin’s] exceptional background and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to drive innovation, strengthen our brands, and navigate our rapidly changing industry,” said Joe Guith, CEO of Church’s Texas Chicken in the announcement.

Before Datacraft, Sharma served as chief commercial services officer at Inspire Brands, parent company of Arby’s, Dunkin’, Baskin Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s and Sonic. Previously Sharma also worked as senior vice president of insights, analytics and digital at Arby’s Restaurant Group.

Additionally, Church’s announced Alisa P. Cleek has been hired as chief legal officer and corporate secretary. She joins Church’s from Hooters of America, where she held a similar position.

Church’s Texas Chicken was founded in 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. The chain, along with its sister brand Texas Chicken outside of the U.S., operates more than 1,500 locations in 22 countries.
