Applications Now Open For Nonprofit News Certificate Program

Nonprofit news leaders can now apply for the Nonprofit News Business Certificate, a nine-month training program developed by J+ at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, in partnership with the American Journalism Project and Blue Engine Collaborative.

Candidates accepted in the first two groups will have their $20,000 tuitions covered by full scholarships, thanks to support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

The program will focus on business and financial management for nonprofit news leaders.

“The Newmark J-School runs dozens of professional, expert-led and diverse training programs focused on leadership and business management that have a far-reaching impact on newsrooms,” says Graciela Mochkofsky, dean of Newmark J-School. “The Nonprofit News Business Certificate will build robust business foundations for leaders working in nonprofit news so organizations can succeed and thrive, ultimately strengthening the local news ecosystem.”
